Advertising is costly I am sure i can get my website noticed other ways

Look for some Yahoo groups that cater to gifts/low cost/parties/marketing/link sharing/promotional

be sure to read the posting rules but you may be able to post
"I found this great site" messages to the groups.

Of it you have some promotional materials/items you may be able to offer them
